SATURDAY night shapes as a “very interesting test” for unbeaten filly Tintin Magic.

Winner of her two starts at provincial circuits, Tintin Magic is engaged in the Pink Diamond Stake at Club Menangle.

Along with a decent step up in class, the three-year-old has drawn awkwardly in the feature.

To be driven by her trainer Nathan Turnbull, Tintin Magic will begin from barrier six over a mile.

“I’ve certainly thrown her in the deep end this week,” Turnbull said. “I have a bit of an opinion of her, so this will be a very interesting test to see where she is at.

“Her wins have only been out in the bush, but she has also trialled impressively in Bathurst which suggested she can compete against the city fillies.

“Saturday night will provide a guide on what she is capable of, which is precisely what I want before the Breeders’ Blue starts on Monday week.”

Citing Windy Hill Tara as the one to beat, Turnbull also believes Shez The Reason will play a role in the finish.

Prepared by Turnbull’s father, Steve, Windy Hill Tara captured the New South Wales Oaks last February.

Windy Hill Tara will begin from gate 11, while Shez The Reason – a last start Queensland Oaks Consolation winner – has drawn nine.

“Dad is obviously the one to beat…his is a very nice filly,” Turnbull said. “She had a checkered time in Queensland last month, but is a lot more settled at home and ready to go.

“Shez The Reason has shown herself to be pretty handy and should be in it again.
